We have been using Personify 360 (previously Personify, and TIMSS before that) for 15 years. It is the central hub of our 18,000 member professional association. BEST: It is a platform with strong customization architecture, allowing customers to create our own ( or modify existing) fields, tables, forms and even APIs and Web Services. If you are big enough to have your own developers, or can afford to pay for customizations, then it's a great platform. WORST: Their professional services and support are kind of dysfunctional in how they work together. It can be hard to get some things done quickly...Personify is not the most nimble of organizations. UNKNOWN: The company has new owners and is brining on new management. How that will impact the product and services remains to be seen. Better? Worse? Unknown.

We are a small association licensing Personify through an association management center. We've found the system to be incredibly difficult to adapt. Our membership is organizational and the affiliate manager is crucial to our business processes. Unfortunately, our association management center has been unable to launch this feature after more than a year and a half of working with TMA resources. I find the member-facing ecommerce site to be clunky and archaic looking. Furthermore, we do not have access to the database, just daily reports from our vendor which is very frustrating.

My overall experience with Personify has really been a great one. Having worked with varying AMS programs with past associations, I find Personify to have a great ease of interface and comprehensive possibilities for what an association may want to do. Capturing the data we want to capture seems possible most of the time - and when customization has to happen it can. The downside I would cite is with the reporting on that data. I will acknowledge that a chunk of this has to be due to personalizing the database, but reporting it tough. Of course, one-off reports are exceptions and may not be easy to pull, but as of yet our regular reports take a good amount of time to set up. We are further exploring how to link all our data to hopefully address this problem. All of that said, of the systems out there, I would heartily recommend Personify. Their team is strong, knowledgeable and want to see your organization's success.

The ebusiness platform has been several steps behind the rest of the industry for >5 years now and they're just starting to address it. Personify requires too much customization for some basic tasks and you'll pay for those customizations every year via maintenance fees. It's a bloated product and could use some major slimming down.

Personify has a lot of great attributes - it's well architected, highly usable, and has a number of very association friendly features. The staff are helpful and motivated, and Personify met many of our association's needs out of the box. The customization process was expensive and a bit painful, so I recommend trying to change business process to conform with baseline functionality before exploring enhancements to the system.

This AMS should could with a warning label: 'Use only with developers on staff. Not for small associations, trade associations, or associations with limited tech budgets.' This AMS is very capable, if you can either a) customize it yourself or b) pay through the nose for customization by PersonifyCorp. The yearly maintenance is outrageous for what we get.

We implemented and went "live" on Personify in 2009. Since that time, we have completed almost annual upgrades. The product has really matured since 2009. The original implementation and quality of the software was very rough but our system is now quite stable and overall, I would recommend it. I believe it is a monumental challenge for a software company to develop an AMS that can be easily configured for all of the various and unique business rules and needs of associations. We ourselves have an uncommon membership model and structure but we were able to adapt the product to our needs. The "web" side of Personify was probably the weakest and/or the most challenging area for us, but over the last 5 years it too has made strong improvements and we're looking forward to the end result of our current upgrade that is underway.

I must say i was not impressed with Personify. During the life of our project we had numerous turnover with our Business Analysts, therefore we had to do a lot of re-education of our processes. If your organization requires unique business rules then Personify would not be for you because customizations to Personify will drive your overall costs up. All AMS providers will tell you "Yes" they can support it so I would recommend evaluating all AMS providers before you select a AMS provider because the devil is in the details of your processes.

While no AMS could meet all of our needs, our current AMS feature set falls short in many areas, even in areas that should be core expectations, like data import. We could use more functionality in the areas of certifications, finance, volunteer management, ecommerce, and abstract management. To achieve the functionality to meet our needs, we had to heavily customize the system which has made upgrades problematic and expensive. After a review of other AMS vendors we recognize our current provider falls significantly short in a number of areas. Personify seems to be putting in the effort to catch up, and has wonderful staff to provide good support and give the organization strong direction, but we are at a point where we need this functionality now. As a market leader, they have a good base and lots of integration and involvement across the market and are in a good position to leverage for their future.
