We are a very small Association with an all-volunteer staff. As a result, we need an AMS that is very simple to use, and with great customer back-up when inevitably we find ourselves unable to do what we need with the software. Timberlake has developed into a company that meets these needs very well.

We moved our library association records from a database system to Timberlake AMS Solutions about 18months ago. We had a rocky start (those Timberlake staff members are gone!), but now love that the members can update their records and register for programs on their own. We receive immediate responses from Timberlake staff that include solutions-and when we needed assistance with our annual conference (3 days, 64 sessions, 3 meals) , they looked over our shoulders and make suggestions. We had a glitch with 600+ people registering for this conference; we got timed out of the system before reports could be completed. Timberlake solved this by writing us a separate report that spooled in about 15 seconds. Most replies are by email-which gives you a paper trail for their solution, but they will pick up the phone and call you if necessary.

I've had the chance to select an AMS for a small-staffed, national association twice and both times Timberlake was the only choice in the marketplace for us. The first time around, we were coming off a custom built solution and Timberlake was the perfect introduction to an AMS and it's various solutions. The second time around, we were coming off a very dissatisfying relationship with a much larger AMS and were looking for the nimble, responsive, and elastic type of solution that Timberlake offers its clients. So naturally, we took our business straight back to Timberlake. We participated in their new concierge on-boarding service and they took us from contract to live within 7 weeks. Our project manager was 100% devoted to our new site and she functioned like an extension of our own staff. Challenges unique to our industry and set-up were immediately met with work-arounds, custom solutions and creative ideas. On the outside, our site is fantastic looking and to the layman's eye looks like a custom build. The back-end is the organized, easy-to-use and navigable software we've come to expect from Timberlake. It was no surprise that the team that was in place five years ago is still the leadership team working with the expanded Naylor footprint today--because it's a company that's built off a great platform but driven by great people. You can't work with Timberlake without getting to know its people. They understand their solutions because they came from challenges faced by their clients--and the knowledge sharing is really an aggregate benefit of any new customer. Your questions have already been asked by countless clients and so your benefiting, frankly, from other association's problems and how Timberlake helped them solve it. If I find myself in a position again to choose a new AMS, I know I'll be starting right back at Timberlake.

This is our association's third web site in the 16 years I've been with this organization. I was not involved in the build out of the first. I was heavily involved in the second (which was custom built for us and eventually started breaking for lack of updating...which we didn't understand we needed to do until it was too late). And I was heavily involved in this third Timberlake decision and build out. It took us a while to get the build started. Day-to-day association matters were more pressing and the Timberlake team was patient (though our contact kept changing because there were changes going on there as a result of the Naylor purchase). Finally, we buckled down and started learning how to build. The build itself was not all that intuitive and I relied heavily on our contact. Too late in the process we realized we could simply pay Timberlake for them to transfer the content to the site. Things would have gone much faster had we known that earlier, but I think Timberlake web development folks aren't trained in sales so I had to mention that we were thinking about hiring a third party before our Timberlake contact said "oh we can do that". Things went a lot faster after that and we were able to launch on schedule. One of our team members who'd been through multiple web site builds said they'd never seen a web launch go so smoothly. We've been thrilled with the robustness of the admin side of the site and, more importantly, our members are very happy with some of the new features were offering them via Timberlake. There are always improvements from our view, but the thing we're most excited about is the fact that the Timberlake team is actively listening as they plan module/feature improvements. Not only do they ask for feedback directly, but they also have a users group that meets monthly. Our new site has been up for 4 months now and I'm so pleased with how it works for our team and our members. We're looking forward to continuing to work and grow with Timberlake.

The staff at Timberlake, in contrast, has been prompt and effective. They have a consistently fast response time, a willingness to find ways to adapt the software to our needs, and a remarkably cordial and supportive tone in dealing with our staff.

Our Association needed a joint member database and website solution that would not break the bank and after looking at several, we chose Timberlake. They have been very responsive and helpful during our changeover to their software. Their customer service is always helpful, friendly and quick. I absolutely love their website software! It is incredibly easy to make changes and update your webpages. And the calendar on your homepage does not require your constant maintenance, because once the date passes of an event, it automatically drops off your calendar! Nothing like having an event listed 2 months after it has taken place to make your web page look as if no one even checks it. The data conversion went flawlessly. We have had no trouble with any missing data. Their report builder, where you can pull specific information, is a little awkward, but it does pull the info you ask for! The database has plenty of customizable fields and we are still tweaking it to make it the most useful for us. Every association has different needs and items that you want to track, so carefully plan your fields and this process will be easy. Any new software has a learning curve, but we have been able to jump right in with very little slowdown of our day-to-day activities. We are definitely a Timberlake fan, and I plan to keep tuning in to all their new features and monthly webinars.

We started working on our data conversion in April and went live with Timberlake's Membership Software in June 2015. We are extremely pleased with Timberlake. The Membership Software has a lot of options and flexibility. Not always a direct fit, but as power users, and with excellent Timberlake support, we've made all scenarios work (even complex domestic chapter set-ups and international fees). We also use the Events module for multi-day events with a variety of paid activities, for a variety of attendees, and it is working quite well. Currently working on establishing Forums and Store modules for our membership, which will replace in-house and third party software modules. The Support team (avaibale directly on the phone or via email) is a true joy. They are smart, polite and know the software they support very well. More so, every team member that we've encountered is able to grasp business sceanrios quickly. It takes very little time to get a question answered or dissect a problem. Questions, request for enhancements or estimates are addressed timely and issues are well tracked until resolved. Of course, as with all conversions, when data was first loaded into a new system and the actual functionality was excercised, we encountered processing a bit different from what was expected, and other challenges. This was addressed as we learned the functionality of the system better, and now are needs are very well taken care of. We are planning some custom enhancements to get to 100%. The Reporting and extract capabilities of the system are powerful and complete, but the reporting tools are better suited for power users and tech savy staff. (We use the Reporting module extensively.) An understanidg of database tables and logic is a huge plus to be able to unleash the power of the tools. Overall, this software and associated modules are very useful and fully capable of providing excellent service to our organization. Bottom line, we would enthusiatiscally recommend Timberlake's Membership Software.

We bought this platform as we moved our membership activities in house (previously outsourced). We developed the entire interface with Timberlake support, and imported all membership information seamlessly. It is now working very well and we're glad we made the move. Some additional details: 1. The interface they use to create all the forms and templates is a little clunky. It isn't intuitive, but it is all definitely there somewhere. Building a new site from scratch, in the mold we wanted, took a lot of time and energy. Don't think this is a one day, or one week, project. 2. The event software didn't work for us. This was a secondary concern as we'd have liked to have integrated in the event software for our conference, but that wasn't to be. We bought it for the base AMS, and that works very well. 3. By far the best part of the experience was their customer support. In many instances, I've felt like the sales people bring you in, but then the project people are very different...more interested in revenue generation and decreasing their own workload....but that was NOT the case here. Allison Paliska is terrific. I don't know the other support folks, but Allison was our lead and she was there for every question, answering every issue, and happy about it. Five stars for customer service.

Timberlake offers a robust and affordable membership management software, in tandem with website support. Their personal sales pitch and the fact that they dedicate a single, consistent personal trainer to assist through transition. My organization has a very complicated membership and dues structure, and AMS is up to the task. I am sorry that Timberlake doesn't support listservs and if your organization is as complicated as ours, the time commitment for the transition has exceeded projections, but we are convinced that Timberlake was the right vendor for our needs.

After more than a year of looking for a new AMS for our organization, Timberlake has come to our rescue! We are still in the implementation phase, but from the beginning of the process through our current stage of development, Timberlake has exceeded our expectations. Our project manager, Cara, has been outstanding! If she does not have an immediate answer for us, she goes out of her way to find a solution. The support offered by Timberlake through this transition has been excellent. I am especially appreciative of both the live webinars and recordings. We are looking forward to launching our new website and AMS for our members soon!

We have been using Timberlake for over 5 years now. They really fit the needs of our organization - small staff with a small budget. Plus, Timberlake is constantly working to improve both their products and customer service - staying relevant in a fast changing technology environment.

The implementation went well. Later, we had some customer service issues as the company grew, but they have added more staff and customer service has improved. We have gotten to know a few key staff and they are wonderful to work with.

Timberlake - A Thoughtful Review

We have been using Timberlake for a few years now. I'm an Executive Director of a small association. At the time of the RFP process I was not in this role and therefore did not fully participate in the initial sales experience. It is my understanding that what was promised during the sales pitch is not what we received. Again, I don't have specific examples and instead inherited this tribal knowledge. We did have a rough patch when Timberlake was purchased by Naylor. While I can survive in a web-based environment after some training, I don't have a technical background in software systems. I felt as though I was "flying blind". I found the transition period to be very frustrating as it seemed the staff was stretched thin. I am happy to say that I have absolutely experienced relief to the issues we struggled with during the transition. My customer service rep is 100% responsive to my questions and concerns. I no longer have to log into their system to complete a work order for questions that I have as I now can simply dash an email to my rep. I appreciate working with the same customer service rep each time. We have built a great working relationship and I feel as though we have the association's website working well. The members of the association have had no complaints. From the financial perspective, my Controller instructs me that Timberlake's accounting system has opportunities for improvement. If a purchase is paid immediately with credit card, the system does not track this transaction by invoice number. Transactions are purchases that are paid for the time of purchase or Payments to an open invoice. Billing on an invoice does not generate a transaction. A payment on an invoice DOES generate a transaction. It gets a little messy. In addition, the system out of the box does not create a report for transactions on invoices separate from reporting on invoices only. In addition, there is a report builder that is promoted by Timberlake. However, we don't have access to tables. We imagine we would have similar issues with whatever AMS we would have signed with. I selected "Yes but with reservations" as we have only recently felt as though things were moving along smoothly. If we were another year into this with the same level of service and no major technical issues, I would imagine I would recommend with a "thumbs up".

I have been working with Timberlake for about 2 years now. I have been pleased with the system and surprised by the ease of use. Since Naylor has taken over the management they have put some great systems in place to ensure deadlines get met and support has increase tremendously. I made a request for volume discount change and in about 3 weeks a "wish list item" became part of their event module. 

Pro's 

- Website editing is amazingly easy. We are able to have all levels of employees update the website and keep information relevant. 
- Membership sign up is easy and the membership management portal for members is easy to use. We have had many clients comment how easy it is to navigate. 
- Events Module - when we first began the event module did have some challenges but with the roll out of the new events module it has incorporated everything missing from the first module. This was a great resource and had some additional added features that were helpful in making our 500 person registration process a success!

Cons

-Invoicing for an event works great but if you adjust the registration amount with a promo code you have to go adjust the invoice. It is a very easy step just wish this would have been shared during the training process. I have made the recommendation and am hopeful that they will work to make this more user friendly.

Timberlake Rocks!

I have had the pleasure of working with Timberlake in a previous job and found it easy to use. However, when I came on-board with the previous position, the website was already set-up. So, with limited training from co-workers I found it intuitive and relatively easy to use. When I started my new (current) position, one of my goals was to revamp the website. I had immediately set out to switch platforms and sought out Timberlake. This move had actually saved the association one half of what they had previously spent for the same features. The training is well thought out and organized in steps that make sense - even to the novice. We launch in two weeks and I look forward to showcasing our new website.

We just wanted to share our experience with Timberlake. The initial sales team was thorough in their follow through, the design team was very helpful with layout ideas for our site and our project manager was amazing! Weekly training sessions went well. Found the orientation videos provided after also helpful for reference if questions arose while adding our content. Scheduled live date was hit! Our project manager Ashley was wonderful and responded quickly to our questions and corrected problems in a timely manner when they arose and were brought to her attention. We were provided with action items to complete along with TimberlakeÕs teams to keep our project moving forward in the right direction to hit our target live date. The action items were very detailed and easy to follow which kept stress level to a minimum. Timberlake could have provided us better guidance when developing the main page sliders. We struggled with figuring out image dimensions to avoid stretching the images when they appeared on our website. When setting up and uploading our content to Timberlake the font sizing seemed to be inconsistent and the templates were a little tricky to use (and still are). I felt it was very helpful to have the ability to have a ÒtestÓ site prior to going live to see how our content would appear on our site and to test links to ensure they were working properly. Found the report builder challenging to use, could have provided better training once our data was uploaded. The mobile site looked good and easy to navigate. We are a small membership organization (350+) members, 3 employees, and have been using Timberlake for 8 months now. Once Timberlake set up our member join processes and the basic web pages we are now able to update webpages on our own and also monitor the database, invoices and payments, web pages, and event registration. We used to have to use an hourly consultant to help us with these systems which costs us extra but also meant we had to wait for his availability and schedule. Also, we moved from a variety of customized platforms for different processes to one platform, covering all of our needs except for email campaigns. The support desk ticketing system has improved over these last few months and Timberlake is responsive to questions and problems. There is also a new monthly user group meeting which has been helpful to know about updates. Timberlake is also improving its training offering periodic on-line training refreshers and training for new launches.

Timberlake has a good set of features but some are not flexible enough to adapt to our current business rules. We have noticed improvements in both features, ability to customize recently. I think the product has possibilities to become great but it still needs some work in the event registration areas to meet our needs.
