On the whole, MemberClicks is a great company with whom to work: customer service rocks and is prompt, courteous, and accurate. The platform is mostly customizable and easy to use, with the occasional head-scratching to keep me on my toes... when that happens, Customer Service rocks!

They are very helpful and responsive to any suggestions/ issues we run into. The software is easy to use, user friendly. Customer service has always been willing and able to help. We work with another AMS system that has a horrible system, customer service that can't answer our questions, etc.

MemberClicks is pretty easy. The website is great. We have concerns with the financial component though. We haven't had much luck with the integration into QBs. We absolutely love the customer service. They really help you out so much!

We are a small organization and have had MemberClicks for awhile but are currently looking at other systems. Over and over we have found MemberClicks very slow to upgrade their platforms. We were on their "Classic" version until last year. Upon upgrading to their new platform, which by the way was in Beta version when we first inquired about the upgrade and I believe they are still in the Beta testing at this time. Upon upgrading our system, we lost functionality to several of our key areas of our website. So the upgrade, while providing us minimal additional features, we lost the use of our directory and forum and had to contract with a third-party vendor to provide us the ability to use these key member benefits.

We started using MemberClicks in Spring 2016. We are a small trade association, we do not have individual memberships, only corporate. We had a demo and selected MemberClicks because they appeared to be better suited for small associations and their price was easy on our budget. Based on my experience, MemberClicks is several years behind similar AMS's with a less than $7K per year price point. Their database structure is set up as a single table. The functionality is clumsy. For example: -If you want to customize the fields that are displayed in search results, you can do that but if you view any record in the search, and go back out the fields are all changed to a default. I pointed this out during the demo and they acknowledged many customers complained about this and they were working on a fix for their "next" release - that was almost a year ago. -The custom attribute fields for a given record 'Must' be arranged alphabetically by name, no way to select which order for them to be displayed. -No CRM functionality - Most AMS's have the functionality for an admin to provide notes (when I contacted a member, schedule a follow-up, etc.) MemberClicks answer is to create a custom attribute field called 'Notes'. -The admin dashboard has a 'Sales Over Time' to provide you a snapshot of a particular revenue account. The only problem is the totals are based on the initial price that is set and discounts are not reflected, so it is inaccurate. Again, they acknowledged this and said this tool was to be interpreted as a 'rough estimate'. They are many other issues -- the bottom line is we have a 'work around' for nearly everything. This is a true case of you get what you pay for. We quickly realized that we are willing to pay more to have the basic functionality that we need from an AMS but certainly do not have with MemberClicks.

This is probably a decent product - still testing - but the implementation was a disaster. While we paid to have them do the work we ended up doing most of it ourselves. Clearly there business model is the shuffle as many clients as they can and spend as little time with you as possible. There "training" was a joke. Unfortunately their documentation did not keep up with their upgrades. If you have plenty of time and staff to do most of the work yourself, then you may not be disappointed. The problem is we are a small association and expected them to do the work we paid for.

MC is best-suited to professional societies, not trade assns with company memberships with many 'parent-child' relationships. Reporting isn't intuitive, & there were constant issues with monthly recurring credit card payments, which is how most of our members pay dues.

We started with Memberclick in 2012 and thought it was going to be the answer to website and membership management. Set up was way more than I expected but once up and running it was great. But over the years things have changed. Website is easy to maintain but the AMS has issues that Memberclick cannot resolve. It seems that every time they do a update something stops functioning but you don't know it until we run reports and then you have to go on a search. We use the revenue allocation and they will just fall out for no reason. We use discount codes for some transactions and when you pull a report it reports the full amount as collected not with the discount applied. These thing create a accounting nightmare. Also they do not allow a plug in of any bookkeeping software so it cannot be a flow of work. The customer service is great but we stump them all the time. They will tell us things can't be done and then my staff will find a way to make it work.

It is a very good value however does lack some features that associations need like historical committee participation, job board, the ability for participants to go back into registration record to edit or add past selections and categorization of saved messages and events.

Each time we try to change or upgrade our site for users, we inevitably run up against errors and bugs. We've learned to call Customer Service, since an edit to the site in the most intuitive spot isn't always complete. I often learn that I needed to make edits in 2-3 areas of the site in order for my updates to go live, and the 2nd and 3rd areas are often not related to the project. It is frustrating. Searches and filters can also be tedious. We've had help tickets open for months because no one could tell us where the error lies. In the end, they told us it was our fault. But explanations often vary from one rep to another and they can contradict each other. I've been told that something isn't possible the way we tried to set it up (that the functionality was not available), yet it had worked for 2 years when someone else did the same thing.

MemberClicks has proven to be a reliable AMS platform and the customer service team has been extremely helpful time after time, but our association has experienced growing pains as we've moved into additional service areas. E-commerce, for example, is limited. Items that can be purchased, fulfilled and billed internally are okay, but we haven't found a way to offer products that are fulfilled by external partners. Customization is also a problem. Another limitation we've experienced is the online community forum. It's subscription and login systems are too complicated for our average user. It's one example where the system seems designed for much larger organizations. As for contacts, the parent-child terminology took awhile to get used to, but once we got that down, the system has worked well. We're able to access data using various criteria. The MemberClicks team was helpful in getting us up to speed in that area. The publications function has pros and cons. It's fairly easy to use, but it's limited in terms of being able to make changes to the formatting of weekly e-newsletters. Again, the MemberClicks team has been helpful in figuring out some work-arounds that helped us achieve some goals that were not readily obtainable. Someone once told me that NO ONE loves their AMS. Given that fact, we've been mostly satisfied with MemberClicks. The only question is for how long.

We are just under 700 professional members, with only one paid staff person. We find for our Board that this system is difficult to learn/manipulate although there are training videos. Is there a system that is more intuitive/less expensive that accomplishes tracking of membership, payments, conference registrations that is more useable?

We've been using MemberClicks for about three years. We had a lot higher hopes for it than what's materialized. A big part of that is their development shifting away from the Joomla-based platform we are on - they now developed their own platform and did not make a migration path for existing users to move their sites. The back-end is intimidating for our tech-challenged committee chairs - the bulk of the work ends up resting on the shoulders of one or two people. There are a lot of quirks and things we'd like to be able to better customize, but that's going to be true with any AMS.

When we first started using the system, we experienced some technical issues with the data saving. The glitches were fixed. The system is basic and able to be customized if you need additional data fields saved, but we are finding some of the fields are not saving correctly and new members mistakenly not being charged a membership fee.

I "inherited" our AMS about two months ago, but have worked with several others over the last 20 years. MemberClicks has what is probably the best support of any software company I have ever worked with. They have gone above and beyond to accommodate our complex member dues structure that has evolved over 65 years, and their staff is extremely proficient and professional. Unfortunately, I am working with the legacy platform so I am not able to yet take advantage of the more user-friendly interfaces of the newer platform and my ability to review of the technical capabilities of the software is limited. The older platform is pretty clunky and not very intuitive, but I understand they have learned from those experiences and have vastly improved the product in the newer releases. Based on my experience with them so far, they are a big "thumbs up" on the support side, and a "side thumb" on the technical side.

This AMS provider is good for small organizations that are looking to minimize costs; the annual license fee is low. It is good for managing individual organizations, but is weak if you are looking to manage on organizational or hybrid organizations. I have found that there a lot of processes that can't be easily automated such as the online directory, forms, and continuing educational credits. This company also charges transactional costs in addition to the charge from the credit card processor company. Unfortunately, they don't offer a prorated membership system if your membership is calendar based. Regarding Customer Service, I have found it is easy to reach a live person. However, if you're looking to improve a business process you need to be very specific otherwise they will just answer your question and that's it.

We chose MemberClicks in 2012 as an affordable option knowing that it wouldn't be perfect for our needs. We have learned the hard way over the past 3 years that this was a mistake. Several basic functions and reports require multi-step workarounds that have become too cumbersome for us to handle. While MemberClicks is easy to use and has good customer service, it just doesn't have the customization that we need. MemberClicks has mentioned for quite some time that they plan on doing updates that will enable us to do some of the things we need to do but has yet to deliver (after 2 years of waiting). Some of the major issues that we have had are: a limited automated messaging system (e.g. notifications for expiring members or personalized emails for different membership options); inability to update certain fields when a member's level changes in a renewal; an imperfect recurring membership system; and revenue reports that don't report what we need due to our breakdown of membership options. Overall, this system would work fine for a basic membership structure but doesn't work well for an association like us with a complex membership.
