Our implementation process was a nightmare - they couldn't handle the data export from Avectra and it took four months and hundreds of hours of our staff time to get it right. There is a certain amount of customization, but if your dues structure is complex, the number of "work arounds" and trade-offs skyrocket. The down time and "glitches" are so frequent I don't even bother reporting them anymore. We're using Memberclicks Classic and in mid-2015 they rolled out the new Memberclicks platform which is supposed to be more intuitive and user friendly. I've seen the webinars and it looks a LOT better, I suspect we'll need fewer "work arounds" but I don't think it'll be able to grow with us.

I understand that no one system can be all things to all people. MemberClicks does a good job of training and working with a staff to implement the new AMS. The system has some quirks. Our membership is corporate not individual. Whenever a member company registers people for an event, it changes the contacts listed in the database associated with that company. So this complicates things around billing time, especially if the contact for billing has been removed with a conference registrant. The website templates are nice but I would prefer more customization. The contact center (communications module) is not intuitive and could use work. Also, many of our members don't even receive the e-blasts because it is blocked by their spam filters. MemberClicks did not have a solution for this. On the positive side, they do have a great help team. Additionally, they offer webinars that are informative and keep you informed on things that you may be missing out on, or have overlooked. For the price, it isn't a bad AMS.

It was sold as a trade association, corporation based membership system, and it simply is not. For individual based associations, the system is fine.

We have been using Memberclicks for about 14 years., and currently have a dozen active accounts. The system is cost-effective and powerful for our AMC clients, who range in size from 200 to 5000 members. We love the personalized customer service and willingness to help us customize solutions when needed.

We have had an OK experience with MemberClicks. Their customer service is hit-and-miss; you can tell when you get someone who knows what they're talking about and when you get one who doesn't have a clue, which is particularly frustrating. Their features are very basic and, overall, it's just not working for us. Having said that, if you are a small association with basic needs, MemberClicks might work for you. However, I caution you to really do your homework and make sure it will meet all your needs before going with them. I came into my current position after MemberClicks was selected, and it was clear that my predecessors did not do enough research to make sure the software would do what we need it to. It does the bare minimum and, with a lot of work, we can get the info we need from it, but it's definitely lacking.

MC is not intuitive. I have had three employees that use it and all felt it had many short comings. I feel it is not customizable enough. Also, every time I complain or ask them to fix something, I hear the same thing (even for over two years)- "we have heard that before and will ask engineering to find a fix...yet years later, the issue is not fixed. My assistant gave me a list of about 20 things she does not like or it is incapable of doing.

When we started at MemberClicks 5.5 years we really liked them. Their customer service was good. When the user community voted on certain upgrades, they addressed them. We appreciated the ability to have members only web pages and we liked the flexibility and control we had over variables, search filters, and form creation. Wow! How things have changed over the past 5 years. First, let's just talk about speed and reliability. The site is slow. We are often twiddling our thumbs while it's thinking and then instead of the pay off of a page appearing, we get an error message. Speaking of slow, how would you feel is your members forgot their password and, after clicking the "forgot password" link it took an hour to get their password reset link emailed to them? Yikes! Customer Service? Boy has it gone downhill. Two months ago I asked MemberClicks to create an on the fly link so my members could login, go to a particular members only page, and then follow a link to a journal which, as a member benefit, they could read for free. This journal is hosted by ScienceDirect, a major journal interface service. If I had access to the header of my webpage, I could write this script in a few minutes. MC? They are still working on it. Worse, they keep blaming Science Direct for giving them bad information or for not communicating with them. They have not taken responsibility for getting this done and they have not communicated with me about the delay in implementation unless I ping them over email about it, which I do every week or so. They also said that due to the holidays things would be delayed by several weeks. What? Do they only have one person working there? They have not upgraded how their registration forms work from a user perspective in years. While they may have been state of the art at one point, users cannot even verify their purchases before clicking "buy". They launched a "social media" module that is so user UNfriendly that no one uses it. Users are not able to subscribe to certain types of email from us. For example, it would be nice it users could select if they wanted to receive emails about conference, but not webinars or member benefits but that's it, etc. Instead it's one size fits all. Users either opt to receive all mass messages from us or none. I could go on, but I think you get the picture. At one time this was a functional AMS, but over the course of 5.5 years instead of getting better, it's gotten worse. I fear for the viability of the company in the future.

We have been using Memberclicks for more than 7 years. It was the first AMS we have used and we have stuck with it because it gets the job done and is quite affordable when compared with other solutions I have reviewed. It allows us to have an online calendar for our website, takes registrations and payments for anything, offers simple reports, maintains our membership list, allows easy online member renewals... it also allows us to send our weekly e-newsletter right from the AMS to select membership lists. Only negatives are the look of the forms and pages are not very customizeable - no great graphics. And it does have mysterious issues on occassion - freezes, times out in the middle of working. But, I believe the reasonable cost outweight the occassional annoying issues. Also must say the staff are very helpful and respond quickly when issues do arise.

I manage a MemberClicks site on behalf of a professional association, it's not even close to my full-time job. I am one of about five people that can admin the site, the other four aren't in much at all. It gets 80% of the job done for them, but there's very little customization available for the remaining 20%. Allows multiple membership levels Creates a members only area, offering private web pages, discussion lists, a quasi-Facebook environment. Offers a membership directory that the users can personalize. Uses a "forms" system to allow for event registrations, dues renewal, with non-renewal logic available to prevent access without dues payment. Offers a connection to a third-party job board. Has a communications mgmt area to mass email the membership. Integrates with Moolah Payment Systems. The discussion forum is where I hear the most complaints, probably because it is used the most by my membership base. Typically the issues are messages are not flowing or they are flowing to everyone instead of the expected subset. They would likely prefer a system that allowed email responses instead of logging into reply. Registrations are where I struggle with the system the most as an admin. The flexibility I feel I have in the logic often falls short of what the event team wants to see. Biggest fail is adding multiple people/registrations and paying once. The additional people aren't listed in the registration report as the initial registrant is. They're displayed in the Excel/CSV output strangely, making it hard to create name badges outside the system. I have yet to figure out how to create a form to submit a classified listing (or any other kind of submission) and display the data from the form on a site page. Instead they refer us to the job board partnership. Overall it works well enough for a small informal association that is okay with fitting their processes into the MemberClicks mold.

Our AMC has been working with MemberClicks for over 5 years. We have over twenty clients managed with their products. We experience excellent and expedited service, they listen, assist us to solve problems and work with our staff to insure we deliver quality to our clients. They have the infrastructure to upgrade their systems and they spend the money needed to do so. We need a company that is large enough, and smart enough about our clients to serve them and us in the long haul. MemberClicks continues to be our first choice.

We are an AMC and have worked in a number of subscription services. We found this difficult to work in with a significant learning curve. We inherited it as the membership database for this client and found it was not set up properly at the onset and is now difficult (and costly) to change or amend. Although the initial price may be right, the time associated with all its manipulations is not.

When we were researching our options on 2009 MemberClicks seemed to be a good fit for our small staff (2-4). It was not heavy on the marketing but allowed us to bring in the Membership Management aspect which our last system (RegOnline) did not have. In addition, they also "promised" that there would be updates to functionality that would suit the needs that we saw coming on the horizon. However, as time has progressed we have not these changes. The system does not have the accounting capabilities that we need nor is it very user friendly for our customers. We have used the API capabilities but at times it has been difficult to get the technical department and our developer on the same page. They normally send representatives to do annual satisfaction reviews which result in us giving them a list of items that we need to sucessfully use their system. They always leave promising to address these issues but when the next year rolls around we have the same list. Although the leadership of the company are friendly and seem to want to make things better, their inability to deliver the needed changes only leaves us frustrated. We are left with a mesh of Access databases and Excel spreadsheets to fill in the gaps of those things that we need to function as an association.

We signed up for Memberclicks in October 2013 to fully upgrade our dinosaur old systems - back-end and front-end. Memberclicks caters to small staff associations and I am half-time/only staff. The learning curve has been steep partly because there are so many features and I have limited hours. Our implementation coordinator was not great and so there were plenty of moments of frustration, but the Help Center is amazing - patient, friendly and knowledgable and very good on follow-through. Each new feature takes some learning, but for me, once I "get it" about each feature, I am lovin' it.

Been using MemberClicks (MC) for several years now. Researched several vendors. I found MC offered the most value and seemed to be good to work with. They were responsive during the sales process. The question was how would they be once we signed on the dotted line? Well, were were quite surprised. They followed through on everything. Easy design and implementation process. They are constantly striving to improve their product through updates. User friendly software. Live body on the help line. The have extended hours for us on the West coast. Great value. I love these guys and would recommend MC to anyone who asked me.
