We've been partnering with Cobalt for nearly a decade, and their support has been instrumental in transforming our approach to association management. When we initially sought a new AMS, our goal was to move away from a disjointed system to one that fully integrated our public-facing website with our member portal, streamlined our data processes, and supported our growing community of cardiothoracic surgery professionals worldwide. 

Cobalt guided us through this transition and over time, moved us from their hosted datacenter to the Microsoft cloud, which has been a game-changer for our organization. Not only has it reduced our ongoing security costs, but it also provides us with access to Microsoft’s continuous updates and R&D capabilities, offering us more opportunities for seamless integrations and system enhancements. 

From migrating our existing data to building a cohesive member experience that now includes single sign-on across multiple systems, authenticated webform submissions, and auto renewals for memberships and/or subscriptions, Cobalt has exceeded our expectations. Their deep understanding of our needs and their ability to deliver a robust, scalable solution has made them a true partner in our journey to better serve our members. 

What’s even more fantastic is Cobalt’s support. We don’t need to explain our entire business and software solution every time we open a ticket. Cobalt will ask questions to make sure they provide the right solution for what we are asking for, instead of just pushing any solution on us. This is rare in the industry.

Comprehensive AMS with Customization and Excellent Support

I've been through four AMS upgrades during my time with the Urgent Care Association, and Cobalt’s Engagement Dynamics has been the most efficient and flexible system we've used. With our previous AMS platforms, like YourMembership and NOAH, we had to rely heavily on support for any small changes or issues. However, with Cobalt, thanks to their in-depth training and the customizable nature of the system, we rarely need to reach out for support anymore. 

One of the standout features of Cobalt is its ability to track Account/Individual Membership, Certification, and Accreditation data all in one system. Finding a vendor that can handle all three without requiring an expensive, rigid, custom solution is rare. Cobalt’s out-of-the-box product met most of our needs, saving us time and money during the implementation. 

There were a few features missing when we first signed on, but Cobalt was responsive to our feedback and incorporated those features into a future release. For example, the addition of the universal cart has been a great enhancement for our users, allowing them to easily add event registrations, membership applications, and more, with appropriate pricing for members and nonmembers. 

The integration with Microsoft products like Outlook and Teams is seamless, and we’ve really taken advantage of this. It’s so helpful to see historic communication, notes, and emails tagged to a Contact or Account to get the full context of our customer relationship. We've also benefited from small but important features, like the ability to update multiple records at once and send checkout links that do not require a login for someone to pay for that cart or order. It may seem minor, but it has made a big difference in our daily operations and productivity. Overall, Cobalt has provided a robust, adaptable system backed by excellent support.

Our old AMS was antiquated and no longer fit our company needs. On top of that, the lack of support we were receiving made it nearly impossible to do our jobs efficiently. After an extensive search for a new AMS partner, Cobalt was a top contender from day one. In less than four months, Cobalt implemented an AMS that really fit our data structure and business needs. Their AMS is easy to use, flexible, and puts all our membership data in a single, secure source. Now our team is able to make data-driven decisions with confidence, especially knowing the Cobalt team is there to support us if needed.

I was most impressed when I provided feedback of our experience after we went live on the system with the transition from our project manager to support. They really took my feedback and have made changes for future customers. To me that is a sign of a company that truly cares about the customers they serve and are willing to make changes when provided feedback. 

We are at a year since we started our project with Cobalt, and I completely pleased with our AMS selection.
