My organization has been on this platform for around three years and it has been an uphill battle throughout. The customer service leaves much to be desired, as it can take up to a week to add a new staff member as an admin to use the system. When submitting a ticket for a new request, the testing portion is incredibly frustrating, as they will ask you to go in and review/test and you're getting error messages. It's as though they haven't taken the time to test their own work. I've also been through a website re-design with the AMS integration, in addition to a full system upgrade, and can honestly say that the process brought me to tears on more than one occasion. So many of the new features didn't work, while old features broke completely. The reporting within the system (APEX) can be useful if you spend a lot of time learning how to use it for what's appropriate for your organization. Unfortunately for us, the APEX reports are not as robust as we need them, as they operate within their designated modules (membership, meetings, etc) and did not have the capability to pull information from cross modules. In order to get these reports, you need to have their BOXI extension, which includes submitting a ticket to their customer service team to have them build your report, which then means additional costs, etc. I will say that they do allow you to customize, but it is incredibly expensive and the user experience is generally inadequate. We have started to look into other options for our AMS needs.

Our implementation was a nightmare, mainly because the customer is responsible for converting the data from their legacy system. The data had to be manipulated to a great extent to fit into the new AMS. Customer support and the AGILE method they use to handle support issues is not efficient. It sometimes takes months for their support team to even look at the issue. The software has a lot of features and benefits, but configuration is at such a high level, it takes a programmer to understand it. While ACGI does provide online documentation, it is often outdated and hard to follow because it's not details enough.

We are a trade association with membership primarily based on the company level and have found this to be extremely challenging with the way the system was designed. I also think that for an organization of our size we exceed the scope of business operations the system is currently designed to support. We also struggle with the resources available and the lack of effective project management from ACGI. We have been live for almost 6 months and have spent a great deal of time troubleshooting and diagnosing bugs in the system. ACGI will work to fix those bugs, but it causes us to question their method for quality assurance when they release new versions.

Great responsive (data retrieval) platform built on Oracle with various modules allowing for configuration and customization. Implementation is a bit of a challenge if your association project team is not familiar with AMS implementation projects. Having a strong data guru on hand will be very beneficial in understanding the business rules as well. Overall a good product.

We've had continuous difficulties getting straight answers from our ACGI reps, most of our questions or concerns are acknowledged and then never addressed. We have specifically requested a different rep to work with us numerous times, as the individual assigned seems very pleasant but largely unable to assist us with even basic issues. Unfortunately, the company has ignored even that very simple, non-software related request, even after one of our executives had to contact the ACGI rep's supervisor to explain our holistic disappointment. Overall, the system itself is is glitchy, our ACGI rep cannot or simply will not do the work required to assist our organization, and our productivity is significantly limited by the disappointing AMS experience we are having with ACGI. It seemed like a great match up at first, and now our organization is left wondering if the ACGI AMS is just a scam--the sales pitch sounded wonderful, yet now we receive massive bills for services that have not even been completed. We submit "tickets" requesting adjustments to glitches in the system, and the tickets go ignored for months with no anticipated timeline provided to us. However, we receive hefty bills for each ticket submitted. We genuinely regret having signed with this company so far, even though we had high hopes for a successful partnership. If you're considering this company, think twice.

Great AMS for basic member management and running processes within scope of baseline products. Some strengths include: Membership management, SAP Business Objects reporting integration, Marketing/ e-communication module. Day-to-day users also feel very comfortable with the interface which is important. A huge draw back comes when trying to make changes to their existing baseline product. My staff has experienced several issues as the result of improperly configured functionality from implementation and has a hard time getting changes addressed in a timely manner post-implementation. Admittedly, some issues we've encountered have at times been due to our own improper setup or testing, but when there is an issue that we need assistance on, unless it's major, we may be hanging without resolution for a week+. Even trying to get a quote on desired functionality can take several weeks since all support tickets must go through their cycle. The support is friendly enough, but all too often they seem a little thin in staff who are able to diagnose and fix any issue that needs technical expertise or changes to their Oracle database. Make sure you are thorough about your requirements and expectations or you may end up spending a lot of money in post-implementation support.

Flexible Software But Beware of the "C" word!

This software is highly flexible and can be a very powerful database. However, we have found that nearly everything requires a customization (the "c" word) and thus costs more money. They also expect that users configure and manage the database themselves (with some support) which requires that you have IT staff. I would advise that small staff associations with limited budgets steer clear of this software. We outsource our software support to ACGI since we do not have an in house IT team. There customer service on the software support side is extremely lacking and they have no regard deadlines.

ACGI's Association Anywhere has really helped us our keep our data straight and maintain member profiles. Beyond that, I have been disappointed that many of the features that are included with the AMS require hours upon hours of set up. Essentially we have paid a lot of money to get a solid database without the promised bells and whistles. Every project seems to drag out over months and years without ever really coming to fruition. In only one case has Association Anywhere had the existing functionality to stand up a feature immediately.

Well, we officially completed our one year anniversary since the implementation of ACGI's AssociationAnywhere in December 2013. As to be expected, the first year was a little rough getting staff up to speed on the various modules and new ways to perform our needed functions. However, we also have been able to successfully add other modules based on our needs and also perform a few new integrations with other ACGI partners (ExpoLogic and HigherLogic). Overall, I give the staff at ACGI an A+ for their ability to manage projects/tasks through their online project management toolsets. We are still going through some learning curves between their staff and ours, but have not experienced anything that cannot be overcome with a few phone calls and exchange of needs/information.

ACGI system is not for the small staff association. Be sure you have deep IT expertise. However, it is customizable to very deep degree.

Associations Anywhere has helped us maintained our records as our membership has been growing, and it is definitely so much better than the Access database we had several years ago. However, it is not very user friendly and it has required a lot of customization. We are ready for something that would meet our needs in a more efficient manner. I would recommend it only for those associations that do not have a complex membership structure, but not if you would have to make a lot of customization.

I am the database manager and was hired to be our company's interface with ACGI. I have found it a good system to work with and would recommend it. My specific thoughts are these: 1. The system has been reliable with very little down time. 2. They have been good about resolving issues, but you need to monitor them so an issue does not get lost in the process. 3. They will do special programming to meet our needs, which is huge for me. 4. Their upgrade process works pretty well. You need to test your special code since there have been times that it did not make it over with the upgrade. 5. They have very little documentation on the system. They use a WIKI, but it is very spotty in the info that is there. 6. They have allowed us to have ODBC access to our tables. This allows us to have access to our data so special reports can be generated.

We have been using ACGI for many years and are now looking into other AMS options. The reason we are looking into the other options is because we don't feel that with the current setup, ACGI does not support our operation in the most efficient way: Functionality: - Currently our staff uses 3rd part applications for events, surveys and emails. The current features in ACGI give only basic functionality for the above features and as a result both the user experience and customer interaction are less than ideal when using the ACGI features. - The system is not intuitive for a non-technical user. Many time our users find it very hard to find and do things that are considered basic. - Many fields in the UI were not renamed to our industry terms. Member Interaction: - There is no CRM function built into the system - therefore no true view of all the interactions that take place between our customers and the organization. User Interface: - The current UI that was incorporated into ACGI is not user-friendly and not very appealing. - The create new member form is extremely long and complicated - If a mistake was made when entering data the system generates a very technical error message and does not retain the values entered by the user - It can be hard for users to work with a system they donÃt find appealing even if it provides all the functionality they need Customer Service: -We have had many issues with data quality and integrity, and ACGI has not provided solutions to help us become smarter and faster. -ACGI enable us to submit questions but the tool they provided is not geared towards people with no technical skills. The page that needs to be filled is long and usually deter most of our users.
